For my second experiment, I presented a Spoken Word piece. Through it, I hope to embody the same message I did in my first experiment, a message I hope to embody throughout my entire project. I hope to bring awareness to the fact that so many are struggling with the concept of being honest about their hurt, so many are pretending to be someone they are not, and so many are being torn apart inside because rather than dealing with their pain, they refuse to acknowledge it. I chose a Spoken Word as my medium for this experiment because I believe it is one of the most powerful forms of communication there is. I remember the first time I watched a Spoken Word piece, it left me speechless, in the best way possible. Something about the performance, from the music to the changes in tone, to the visuals and, above all to the message, left me feeling invigorated..
